CHELTENHAM TOWN BECOMING POTHOLE CITY
In the Gloucestershire Echo on 1 March, Mayor Klara Sudbury highlighted the fact that Cheltenham's town centre "is becoming like a third world farm track".
Chamber CEO Michael Ratrcliffe agrees. "We may use another phrase and say that Cheltenham Town is quickly becoming 'Pothole City', and we fully support the Mayor's comments. Our roads are in a disgraceful state as are our pavements. This is bad for residents, bad for businesses and bad for Cheltenham and Gloucestershire in general. This has been an issue for too long, and the County Council, which is responsible for roads and highways in Gloucestershire, must change this quickly or we'll risk losing out to better supported areas of the Southwest."
