A Charity Winter Ball for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court has raised an incredible £26,000 to help fund specialist hospice care for local people and their families in Gloucestershire.

The Pulhams Coaches sponsored Winter Ball, held at the Princess Hall at Cheltenham Ladies’ College, was attended by 140 guests who had the chance to win an early Christmas present - a sparkling £1,000 diamond from Goldsmiths RJ Spicer with an exclusive Champagne Diamond Raffle on the night.

Guests were also treated to gin tasting at their tables thanks to hospice supporters and local distillers, Sibling Gin.

A series of money can’t buy auction lots went under the skilful hammer of Bargain Hunt’s Philip Allwood, including an exclusive tour of the Coronation Street set and a behind the scenes training day with Gloucester Rugby for six people, including lunch with the players, which was kindly donated by Gloucester Rugby Club.

This is the third year the hospice has organised a charity Christmas celebration, which has so far helped raise over £75,000 for Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice, meaning they can continue giving its expert and specialist hospice care to local people and their families.
Elise Hoadley, Hospice Director at Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice said, "What a truly magnificent evening we enjoyed in spectacular surroundings at the Ladies’ College. It was wonderful seeing so many people coming together to celebrate and have a great time, whilst helping to raise much needed funds for our hospice and the families who need our care and support.”

"Everyone at the hospice is overwhelmed by the generosity and support we have received for the Winter Ball from volunteers and local organisations and individuals donating raffle prizes and auction lots. I want to thank everyone, especially our sponsors Pulhams Coaches who without which this event would not be possible.”

Andrew Pulham, Director of Pulhams Coaches said, “Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court provided outstanding care to my sister, Sarah, and to the whole family at a very difficult time. We are thrilled to be able to support Sue Ryder by sponsoring this event and in doing so Sarah’s memory lives on.”

The fundraising team are already planning next year’s event. To pre-register your interest in attending please email or call 01242 246261.
