Cheltenham law firm Willans LLP will be reaching their platinum anniversary this April.
Forming part of their celebrations was their annual business quiz, this year with a ‘70th birthday’ twist to mark the milestone.

The quiz and subsequent auction and raffle, held on 22 March, raised around £2800 for The Nelson Trust, Willans’ chosen charity of the year.
Hazlewoods LLP took home the winners’ trophy. Previous winners Cambray Property Management came second and financial advisers Warwick Butchart came third.

Partner at Willans, James Grigg, said; “We were delighted to see the venue bursting at the seams and to see an array of local businesses put their brain power to the test in aid of a very worthwhile local charity. Thank you to all who took part, volunteered their time and donated raffle and auction prizes”.

Commenting on the success of the firm, managing partner Bridget Redmond said: “The firm today is very much the product of the hard work, professionalism and business acumen of the many partners and staff who have been involved with the firm during its 70 years.”

“We are better equipped than ever to look after our clients, their businesses and their evolving and complex needs. We have grown to a size that has enabled us to develop real depth of expertise in specialist areas including intellectual property and renewable energy, areas of specialism that Alec Willans wouldn’t have dreamed of back in 1947! Yet we are still committed to providing great, personal service to individuals, helping them with their wills or conveyancing, just as he would have done.”

Willans, a full-service law firm, was founded in 1947 by Alec Willans in Clarence Street. The firm is now housed across four buildings in Imperial Square and employs around 75 people.

Willans’ highly regarded lawyers have a range of specialisms and advise national as well as local businesses, charities & not-for-profit organisations, international corporations and individuals.
