EVENTS WEBSITE’S BUS BANNERS ARE IN THE PICTURE
Local businessman Nigel Knowlman is £50 better off after winning a photo competition hosted by business and events listings website. www.glos.info
Nigel entered the competition to photograph one of www.glos.info’s banners on the side of Stagecoach buses running across Gloucestershire in January.
Belinda Wilson from Cheltenham, who runs the www.glos.info site said: “We booked 50 www.glos.info banners on Stagecoach buses to run for five weeks from the 4th January on several routes in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Stroud.
“We decided to run the competition so we had something that we could share with our users and followers on Facebook and Twitter. It was great to receive photos from all over the place and to now have a stock of photos that we can use in the future.
“In the past we have used bus advertising for our sister site, www.GlosJobs.co.uk and found it to be very beneficial. Since we have had the www.glos.info buses running, all sorts of people have contacted us to ask about them and comment on them. We purposefully chose a simple message and a clear branding and it has been well received.”
The winning photo of a Stagecoach bus in Cheltenham was chosen at random.
Nigel Knowlman who runs business support organisation, The Business Kitchen said: “I snapped the photo of a moving bus on Clarence Street and I’m very surprised and pleased to have won.”
Orlaith Palmer, Marketing Manager for Stagecoach West said: “We’d like to congratulate Nigel on winning and were delighted to be part of www.glos.info’s campaign, it's always great to see advertising that engages the local community on our buses.”
www.glos.info was launched in 2014 to support local businesses with events, news and business listings from across the county. The independent website is run by the team behind GlosJobs and receives over 33,000 page views per month, has over 10,000 newsletter subscribers and over 2,000 advertisers.
Director Belinda Wilson was awarded The Gloucestershire Entrepreneur's Business Award 2015 at the inaugural Gloucestershire Business Show for ‘pioneering and delivering a sustainable business model,’ as well as her work in founding community group, Cheltenham Connect.
