The Holst 150 Celebration is being held to mark the anniversary of the birth of Gustav Holst, who was born in Cheltenham 150 years ago. To celebrate, the community will come to together to showcase their own creativity, inspired by Holst’s life and work. They will be supported by a partnership of organisations in the town who first came together in 2020 to form the Cheltenham Culture Board.
- Partners include Cheltenham Borough Council, Holst Victorian House, Cheltenham Festivals, The Playhouse Theatre, National Star, The University of Gloucestershire, Nathra Academy of Performing Arts and Play.Labz.
- The celebrations will feature projects and performances across Gloucestershire and will include concerts, plays, dance, exhibitions and a selection of community curated events and projects.
- The focus for the celebrations will be a community celebration of Holst’s life on 21st September in Imperial Gardens. This will feature performances from local musicians and community groups.
